Orval

Orval-The Abbey

Orval is well known for its trappist beer made by the Trappists Cistercian monks of Orval. Although the Brewery can only be visited once a year, the site of the Monastery is worth a visit any time of the year. Discover this beautiful site: the ruines of the medieval abbey, its garden with medicinal plants, the Pharmacy museum and much more. End you vist with the Abbey shop to buy books, beer or cheese to enjoy further during your stay or back home.

L'Ange gardien-Brasserie

Located just outside of the site of the Monastery, this local restaurant is the place to go to after your daytrip. They serve cheese plates, local dishes some with an additionnal touch-the Orval beer or cheese.

On your way back from Orval or ending a day of Kayak you will pass by Florenville. This littel town has some nice restaurants, shops are open on Sunday which can be convenient during your weekend and  it is hope to one of our chocolate makers of the region: Les chocolats d'Edouard.
I enjoy having a chocolate ice cream on their terrase on the first floor
